  • v0 (2000-2002): Manuel Zacklad and Jean-Pierre Cahier created the `KBM' model, a knowledge-based marketplace where people could publish courses (for example) and describe them using different dimensions. It was prototyped as a Web site querying an existing server which complied with Topic Maps. To overcome the limits of Topic Maps, The team proposed the Hypertopic model which added the notions of `entity' and `viewpoint' . With the help of Jean Caussanel, they implemented the Hypertopic model in a project designed for France Telecom: `Agora-FT'.
  • v1 (2003): The same team generalized the approach in a software called "Agorae".
  • v2 (2005-2008): L'Hédi Zaher rewrote Agorae as a Hypertopic client and enhanced participative features.
  • v3 (2009): Chao Zhou developed a new version which features authentication, multitenancy, service aggregation and Atom feeds.
